Explore options for restoring facial volume, supporting structure, or enhancing balance. Treatment may proceed during the same appointment if suitable.

Benefits

Volumisation treatments using dermal fillers are designed to enhance and restore natural volume in targeted areas of the face. At Nuva Aesthetics, we specialise in lip and cheek enhancement, helping you achieve:

  • Fuller, balanced lips that complement your facial features
  • Enhanced cheek definition and natural lift
  • Improved facial symmetry and harmony
  • Subtle, natural results that refresh your appearance

These treatments are fully tailored to your individual goals, ensuring results that are elegant, balanced, and natural-looking.

How It Works

During your session, RN Catherine carefully injects small amounts of HA filler into the targeted areas, depending on your desired outcome. Each treatment is personalised based on your facial structure, skin quality, and aesthetic goals.

Treatment sessions typically last 45–60 minutes. Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness may occur at the injection sites and usually settles within a few days. Results are noticeable immediately, with the final effect refining over 1–2 weeks.

Lip and cheek fillers can be combined with other treatments, such as anti-wrinkle injections, to achieve overall facial harmony and a refreshed appearance.

What To Expect

Immediately after: Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection sites.

Days 1–3: Any swelling or bruising begins to settle.

Week 1–2: Full effects become visible as filler integrates with the tissue.

Weeks following: Results refine and can last 6–12 months depending on the area treated, type of filler, and individual factors.

Arnica Support To help reduce the likelihood of bruising, Arnica tablets may be taken starting one week prior to your appointment.

Medication Awareness Avoid anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications for 5–7 days before treatment unless otherwise advised by your GP or specialist. This includes Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega-3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDs, as they may increase bruising, swelling, or bleeding.

Cold Sore Prevention If you are prone to cold sores and your treatment involves the mouth area, consider taking antiviral medication either the day before or on the day of treatment to reduce the risk of a flare-up. These are usually available over the counter at pharmacies.

Illness & Infection If you are feeling unwell or have an active infection, please reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Lifestyle Precautions Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive alcohol consumption for 24 hours prior to treatment to minimise bruising.

Skin & Makeup

Makeup Use Mild swelling, tenderness, redness, or bruising is normal immediately after treatment and usually settles within a few days, though bruising may last up to two weeks. Makeup can typically be applied the next day if the skin is intact.
Bruise-eze cream may assist with healing and is available for purchase in-clinic.

Managing Swelling & Discomfort

Cold Therapy Apply a cold compress or ice pack intermittently for up to 48 hours to help minimise swelling and bruising.

Pressure Precautions Avoid pressure on the treated area for at least 8 hours after your appointment.

Medication Guidance For discomfort, use paracetamol if needed. Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil for 48 hours post-treatment unless prescribed by your doctor.
