Aesthetics Consultations in Your 50s | Narellan

Your priorities, not a younger-looking target

If you are considering an aesthetics consultation in your 50s, you can start with what matters to you now. You do not need to aim for a younger appearance, follow a treatment package or compare yourself with an earlier photograph.

Nuva Aesthetics offers RN-led consultations at Lexyor Beauty Centre in Narellan. This guide helps you prepare questions about your own concerns, health history and preferences. Being in your 50s does not establish that a procedure is needed or suitable.

Choose the question you most want answered

Before booking, write one or two priorities in your own words. You might want to understand a skin concern, ask about facial lines or discuss a previous procedure. You may simply want to know whether the clinic is the appropriate place to assess your enquiry.

Explain what you have noticed, how long it has been present and whether there are symptoms as well as appearance changes. Do not assume a new or unexplained change is caused by age; ask whether medical assessment should come first.

Make health information part of the conversation

Prepare your relevant medical history, medicines, supplements, allergies and details of ongoing care. Let your clinician know about recent changes and any previous reactions or concerns after procedures.

Ask whether another treating healthcare professional needs to be involved before considering an option. Do not stop or alter prescribed medicines to prepare for a cosmetic appointment without advice from the clinician responsible for them.

Bring the history of previous aesthetic care

If you have had treatment over several years, gather available records and dates rather than assuming the clinic can identify every earlier procedure from appearance alone. Describe what you liked, what you would not repeat and what you want reviewed.

Our previous-treatment review guide helps you prepare a routine enquiry. Do not assume that more treatment or dissolving is the right next step. Seek medical care for urgent concerns rather than waiting for a routine appointment.

Separate different concerns before discussing options

Skin surface concerns, facial lines and questions about fullness are not interchangeable descriptions. Explain each observation separately and ask what assessment is needed.

Explore the Skin Concerns hub for texture and related questions, or the Facial Concerns hub for questions about lines, lips and facial balance. These guides help you communicate; they do not diagnose the cause or recommend a procedure.

Ask what is outside the scope of a proposed service

Before considering an option, ask what it would not address and whether your goals are realistic. Clarify the limits of the clinician's assessment and whether a referral or different type of care would be appropriate.

This page does not promise lifting, skin tightening, reversal of ageing or restoration of a past appearance. You can choose to seek information, take time to consider it or decide not to proceed.

Consider the full commitment

Ask about full costs, recovery, written aftercare and follow-up, not just the first appointment. If a series of visits is proposed, ask why, when progress would be reviewed and what would prompt a change of plan.

Discuss work, caring responsibilities, travel and events that may affect your availability for review. There is no need to compress a decision into a deadline.

Questions to take with you

  • What assessment is needed for my concern?
  • How do my health history and previous care affect the options?
  • What could a proposed approach reasonably address, and what would it not change?
  • What alternatives exist, including no procedure or referral?
  • What risks and possible complications should I understand?
  • What would recovery, costs, aftercare and follow-up involve?

Can this be my first aesthetics appointment?

You do not need previous experience to ask questions. The listed consultation with RN Catherine provides 30 minutes for discussion and assessment, with no treatment performed during the session. Contact the clinic to confirm whether it fits your enquiry.
