Facial Lines vs Facial Volume: Questions to Ask
Compare the concern before choosing an appointment
If you are unsure whether to ask about facial lines or facial volume, start with the change you have noticed. These descriptions frame different questions, but neither establishes a diagnosis or tells you which treatment, if any, is appropriate.
Nuva Aesthetics offers RN-led consultations at Lexyor Beauty Centre in Narellan. This guide compares ways to describe your concerns and prepare for assessment. It does not compare the clinical effectiveness of procedures or recommend one over another.
When your question is about facial lines
You might want to discuss lines on your forehead, between your brows or around your eyes. Explain where you notice them and whether they are visible during expression, when your face is relaxed or both.
Useful questions include: “What is being assessed in this area?” and “What would any proposed approach mean for movement and expression?” Do not assume that every line has the same explanation or needs the same approach.
Read the facial lines consultation guide for more preparation questions.
When your question is about facial volume or balance
You might be asking about fullness, cheek appearance, contour or a difference between areas of your face. Describe what you see rather than deciding that more volume is needed.
Ask: “Does my concern relate to volume, another factor or a combination?” and “What would adding volume not address?” An observation about shape does not automatically establish a reason for a volume procedure.
Read the facial volume and balance guide to organise your questions.
What if you notice both?
List each concern separately and explain which matters most to you. Ask how the observations relate to one another rather than selecting several services from a menu. A consultation may involve discussing alternatives, further assessment or choosing not to proceed.
Bring previous treatment details and explain any new or unexplained changes. Ask whether a medical assessment is needed before considering cosmetic options.
Questions that apply to either discussion
- What assessment is needed before discussing options?
- What can reasonably be addressed, and what is unlikely to change?
- What are the alternatives, including no procedure?
- How does my previous treatment or health history affect the discussion?
- What risks, possible complications and recovery requirements should I understand?
- What are the full costs, aftercare and follow-up arrangements?
Do appointment names decide what I need?
No. Nuva Aesthetics lists Anti-Wrinkle and Volume Enhancement consultation appointments, but their names do not establish individual suitability. Contact the clinic if you are unsure which appointment fits your enquiry.
The listed consultation with RN Catherine provides 30 minutes for discussion and assessment, with no treatment performed during the session. Ask whether this discussion-only appointment is appropriate for your questions.
Do not compare by quantity or headline price alone
Ask for an explanation of any proposed plan before comparing costs. Clarify what the appointment includes, what follow-up involves and whether there could be additional charges. This guide does not recommend quantities, treatment combinations or a standard package.
Frequently asked questions
Can a photo tell me which option to choose?
A photograph alone cannot establish what is suitable for you. Use photographs to explain your questions, not as a substitute for individual assessment.
Does a line mean I need an anti-wrinkle appointment?
The presence of a line does not establish a need for treatment. Contact the clinic about the appropriate consultation and discuss what, if anything, you want to consider.
Does looking less full mean I need volume treatment?
No treatment decision follows from that description alone. Explain the change and ask about assessment, alternatives and limitations.
What if I have already had treatment?
Prepare your treatment dates and available records. Our previous-treatment review guide helps you organise a routine review enquiry without assuming further treatment is needed.
