Aesthetics Consultations in Your 40s | Narellan

Review what matters to you now

An aesthetics consultation in your 40s can begin with a simple question: what, if anything, would you like to understand about your skin or facial appearance? You do not need to follow a decade-based treatment plan or recreate an earlier version of yourself.

Nuva Aesthetics offers RN-led consultations at Lexyor Beauty Centre in Narellan. This guide helps you review your priorities and prepare questions, whether you are considering a first appointment or revisiting choices made years ago. Age alone does not establish a need for treatment or individual suitability.

Separate a new concern from an old routine

Write down what you notice now, rather than starting with a procedure you previously booked. Your question might concern skin texture, expression lines, facial fullness or something else entirely. Explain when you noticed it and whether there are symptoms as well as appearance changes.

Ask what assessment is appropriate. A new or unexplained change should not automatically be attributed to age or treated as a cosmetic concern.

Bring the history behind your current appearance

If you have had aesthetic procedures, gather available dates, areas treated and records. Include what you liked, what you would not repeat and any concerns you experienced. If details are missing, explain that rather than guessing.

A previous plan is not a reason to repeat a procedure without review. Our previous-treatment review guide helps you prepare a routine enquiry. Seek medical care for urgent concerns rather than waiting for a cosmetic appointment.

Distinguish skin surface questions from facial balance questions

If your concern is roughness, visible pores or marks after breakouts, use the Skin Concerns hub to organise your observations. Bring your current skincare and prescribed skin treatment details.

If your concern involves lines, fullness or contour, start with the Facial Concerns hub. Our facial lines versus facial volume guide helps you clarify the question without choosing an intervention.

Define what you would prefer to preserve

Tell your clinician which features and expressions you do not want to change. Be specific about your preferences rather than relying on labels such as “refreshed” or “natural”, which can mean different things to different people.

Ask what a proposed approach would not address and what uncertainty remains. This page does not promise lifting, restoration of a past appearance or a particular result.

Ask about the commitment, not just the first appointment

If an option is proposed, clarify the full cost, review arrangements and what future appointments might involve. Ask how progress would be assessed and what would prompt a change of plan or a decision not to continue.

Discuss recovery, aftercare and how follow-up would fit work, caring responsibilities and travel. A manageable plan includes time to consider information, not just time for a procedure.

Questions for your consultation

  • What assessment is needed for the concern I have now?
  • How does my previous care affect the discussion?
  • Why is this option relevant to me, rather than simply to my age?
  • What are the alternatives, including no procedure or referral?
  • What are the limitations, risks and possible complications?
  • What would recovery, full costs and follow-up involve?

First-time visitors are welcome to ask questions

You do not need previous experience with aesthetics to prepare for a consultation. The listed consultation with RN Catherine provides 30 minutes for discussion and assessment, with no treatment performed during the session. Confirm the appropriate booking for your enquiry with the clinic.

Read our first-consultation guide and use the pre-consultation checklist to gather relevant health information, medicines, supplements, allergies and questions. Do not change prescribed medicines based on this guide.
