Shape refers here to what you notice about the outline, the upper lip’s central curve or differences between sides. Volume describes fullness. Balance might mean the relationship between your upper and lower lip or how your lips sit within your overall appearance. These descriptions help explain your concern; they do not establish that treatment is needed.

If you notice the difference mainly when smiling or speaking, mention that separately from how your lips look at rest. A useful starting point is: “My question is about the outline rather than overall fullness. What assessment would help me understand it?”

Questions to discuss during assessment

During consultation, ask what any proposed approach could reasonably address, what it would not change, and what alternatives exist, including no procedure. Discuss risks, possible complications, recovery, full costs, written aftercare and follow-up before deciding whether to proceed. A reference photograph can explain a preference, but cannot establish what is achievable for your features.
