Planning a Skin Consultation Before Your Wedding or Event

Start with a conversation, not a treatment countdown

If you are preparing for a wedding, milestone birthday or another important occasion, a skin consultation can be a starting point for discussing your concerns and asking what options, if any, may be suitable. You do not need to arrive with a treatment plan or change your appearance for an event.

Nuva Aesthetics offers RN-led consultations at Lexyor Beauty Centre in Narellan. This planning guide is for adults organising an event in Camden, Narellan or the wider Macarthur area. It does not prescribe treatments or a fixed preparation timeline.

Bring your full event calendar

Write down your main event date and any related commitments, such as photography sessions, a rehearsal, travel or a honeymoon. Tell your clinician which dates matter and whether you will be away from home afterwards.

Ask whether any option being considered would fit those commitments, including assessment, recovery and follow-up. The event date should not be a reason to rush a decision.

Explain your skin concerns in your own words

You might want to discuss how your skin looks or feels, questions about your current skincare or a concern you have noticed in photographs. Explain what matters to you rather than choosing a procedure because it appears on a bridal checklist.

Share your existing skincare routine, previous treatment history and relevant health information. Ask what is realistic and what cannot be promised.

Questions about timing

  • Is there enough time for assessment and any necessary follow-up before my event?
  • What recovery or visible changes could affect my plans?
  • Would travel or other commitments change the advice?
  • What happens if my skin reacts differently from expected?
  • Would it be better to defer a proposed procedure until after the event?

Request timing advice for your individual circumstances rather than relying on a generic “weeks before the wedding” schedule.

Coordinate appointments and skincare advice

Tell your clinician about other planned appointments and any proposed changes to your skincare. Ask whether their timing needs to be considered together. Avoid assuming that advice for one person, product or procedure applies to your plan.

If you are working with a makeup artist or another provider, keep a record of your appointments so you can discuss the full schedule during your consultation.

Make room for informed decisions

Ask about alternatives, limitations, risks, full costs and aftercare before deciding whether to proceed. You can take time to review information and ask further questions. A consultation does not mean you must have a treatment.

If your event is close, tell the clinic when booking. Ask whether a consultation is appropriate without assuming that a procedure can or should take place before the occasion.

Plan for follow-up, not just the event day

Before agreeing to any procedure, clarify review arrangements, written aftercare and who to contact if you are concerned afterwards. Mention any travel that could affect access to follow-up care.

Your event consultation checklist

  • Main event, photography and travel dates.
  • Your concerns, preferences and questions.
  • Current skincare, medicines, supplements and allergies.
  • Previous treatment details where available.
  • Other planned skin or beauty appointments.
  • Questions about costs, risks, recovery and follow-up.
