How to Organise Your Consultation Questions When You Have Several Concerns

You may have more than one thing you want to discuss at an aesthetic consultation. Rather than arriving with a list of treatments to book, try organising the questions you want answered. A short set of notes can help you explain your priorities without assuming every concern needs a procedure.

Start with what you want to understand

Write down each concern in your own words. Keep your observation separate from a possible treatment: “I want to discuss my lip shape” is a different starting point from deciding on a product quantity.

Then add one question beside each concern. For example: “What options, if any, relate to this?” or “Is this something to discuss at a separate appointment?” These are prompts for conversation, not recommendations for treatment.

Choose your main discussion priority

If your list is long, mark the question you most want answered. Keep the others visible rather than trying to squeeze everything into one sentence. Prioritising your questions does not mean choosing a treatment order or deciding which concern should be treated first.

Tell the clinic about your list when arranging the appointment. Ask whether the session you are considering is appropriate for those questions. Do not assume multiple assessments or treatments can be completed in a single visit.

A notes template you can copy

Save these prompts to your phone or use them as headings in a notebook:

  • My main question: What do I most want to understand during this visit?
  • Other concerns: What else would I like to mention, if the appointment allows?
  • My observations: How would I describe each concern in my own words?
  • Previous treatment: What would I like to discuss about treatment I have already had?
  • Practical questions: What do I need to clarify about appointment arrangements, preparation or follow-up?
  • Before I leave: What remains undecided, and whom should I contact with further questions?

This template organises a conversation. It does not replace clinical assessment or provide preparation instructions.

Keep new concerns and review questions distinct

If part of your list relates to previous treatment, make that clear when contacting the clinic. A review and a new consultation are separately described appointments with different purposes.

Our treatment-review appointment guide explains the listed 30-minute Touch-Up Consultation with RN Catherine and what to clarify before booking. It does not establish that further treatment is needed or included.

Use your notes to ask follow-up questions

As options are discussed, ask how each relates to your original concern. Clarify realistic expectations, limitations, potential risks, preparation, recovery, aftercare and follow-up before making decisions about any proposed treatment.

If the discussion covers several options, you can ask: “Which question does each option address?” and “What would we need to clarify before a next step?” Do not assume a longer list of options means you need several treatments.

Choose an appointment for the conversation you need

The consultation with RN Catherine provides 30 minutes to discuss your goals, assess suitability and explore options. No treatment is performed during that session.

If you are unsure how it differs from a service-focused appointment, read Consultation Only or a Treatment Appointment: Which Should You Book? and contact the clinic with your questions before choosing a session.
